Overview
The Marketing and Event Specialist supports the planning and execution of company events and marketing initiatives under the direction of the Event Manager. This role is responsible for coordinating trade show participation, including booth logistics, sponsorships, registrations, shipping, and on-site event services, while also supporting pre- and post-event marketing efforts to maximize engagement and brand visibility. The specialist will manage exhibit warehouse materials and supplies, oversee promotional item purchasing, and ensure all event-related assets are organized and ready to support successful event execution.
Conditions of Employment:

The Marketing and Event Specialist will:
Lead all efforts on 20x20 or smaller exhibits and sponsorships. This includes negotiation and purchase of exhibit contracts, pre-event planning, onsite execution/support (whether in-person or remotely) and post-show needs.
Determine individual exhibit requirements and manage all logistical needs by working with the exhibit company or identified vendors (i.e., purchase of rental fixtures, A/V, electrical, lead retrieval, registration, etc.).
Coordinate and supply needed production materials including company brochures, product literature, graphics, advertisements, give-a-ways, etc.
Manage project timelines and deadlines, ensuring all deliverables are met according to schedule
Lead efforts in leveraging HubSpot for event communications, event contact management, and analytical reporting.
Manage both pre and post-show event-related communications by uploading lists to HubSpot and working with respective marketing managers for content and the creative team for graphics.
Ensure that trade show branding and messaging is consistent with sales and marketing objectives and goals.
Keep company's events page website updated using the content management system.
Track exhibitor and sponsorship opportunities by show for maximum ROI using event lead technology.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal employees, vendors and customers that convey empathy, credibility, and reliability.
Travel approximately 30% to tradeshows and conferences.
Other Duties:
Assist with misc. marketing activities as needed. Additional activities may include:
Helping the marketing team with various projects beyond events.
Security and Privacy Responsibilities:
Individuals working for DSS or any Subsidiary will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
Strong communication skills required - ability to interact and communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with C-level executives, management, staff, IT, and customers
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office automation tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio
Experience with a Marketing Automation Tool (HubSpot preferred)
Experience with event management technology (iCapture preferred)
Outstanding organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred but equivalent combinations of work experience and\or education will be considered.
Certification(s), Licenses:
Preferred: Certified Trade Show Management (CTSM) or willingness to attain CTSM
Years of experience in a similar role:
2+ years of experience as an event or marketing coordinator
2+ years of experience coordinating trade shows or other professional events.
Compensation:
Salary at DSS Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
