P&R Publishing Summer Intern - Sales and Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing for and attending conferences and events with our Sales and Events specialist, with the goal of efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Researching and compiling a database of church leaders of several denominations with current contact data (Pastors, Youth Leaders, Women’s Ministry Leaders, and Discipleship Leaders.
3. Follow up via e-mail and phone calls with trade accounts after promotional e-mails have been sent.
4. Learn how to utilize internal software systems including CATS, FMP and MailChimp to provide effective customer interactions.
5. Process and pursue orders from customers that are generated via e-mail.
6. Engage with all departments to learn how books are published and how these departments interact with sales and marketing.
7. Participate in a weekly marketing and sales planning meeting.
8. Pick orders in the warehouse to learn about breadth and variety of authors that are published.
9. Participate in marketing planning calls with authors.
10. Provide feedback on marketing and sales processes with suggestions for improvement.
In addition to the above, this intern will be expected to read three P&R titles of their choice during the internship.
P&R will provide:
1. Office space and tools needed to do the job, including access to appropriate technology as needed.
2. Supervision and feedback on daily work responsibilities.
3. A well-rounded exposure to the Christian book publishing process
4. Onboarding and training.
5. Discounted housing and hourly compensation.
This is a full-time role, and the intern will be expected to work an 8:00 to 4:30 PM schedule each day. The schedule will vary when attending events and conferences.
